interns Palmer & Christy Hurst are spending this summer in
Strasbourg, France, working with the European Center for Law and Justice (ECLJ)
defending "truth and freedom."
The ECLJ engages in legal,
legislative, and cultural issues by implementing an effective strategy of
advocacy, education, and litigation before the European Court of Human Rights,
the UN, the Council of Europe, and other international entities.
Palmer and Christy just helped complete a petition on
criminalizing neonatal infanticide that was presented to the European
Parliamentary Assembly for a vote on Tuesday, June 23.

Essentially, the petition is asking the Assembly to adopt
legislation that would criminalize partial-birth abortion throughout Europe.
Partial-birth abortion is illegal in the United States pursuant to federal law,
but in Europe, it is quite prevalent. Indeed, babies who survive an abortion
are either killed by the abortionist or left to die in an "abortion
tray." Palmer and Christy helped draft sections of the petition on country
statistics, U.S. law, and U.K. law.
Together with petitions from countries like Ireland and
Italy, the ECLJ is presenting data, case law, and testimonies to the Assembly
so that it may be put to a vote today.
Palmer and Christy also have the privilege of attending the
Assembly session, and we look forward to hearing an update from them soon.
