Center Student Staff Members Draft Memo for World Without Orphans Forum

Gennadiy Mokhnenko, a pastor from Eastern Ukraine, has made his life's mission to create a world without orphans.  "The statistics show that if one or two Christian families will take one orphan, we will have a world without orphans," he told CBN News.

Recently Mokhnenko travelled to CHiang Mai, Thailand, to speak to 450 key orphan care leaders at the first-ever Global Forum for a World Without Orphans.

Center for Global Justice student staff members had the privilege of drafting a memorandum that was used to foster discussions at the forum.  The memo outlined the legal frameworks with respect to adoption and foster care and recommended how Nepal and Bangladesh could improve their child welfare systems. The memo summarized U.S. law, international guidelines, Nepal and Bangladesh law, and then recommended what changes Nepal and Bangladesh need to make to better protect children.
