My first week
at the internship consisted of attending a national summit led by NIFLA. I was
exposed to numerous topics regarding abortion that plague our society including
the issues of human trafficking, forced abortions, and child abuse. It was exciting
to interact with so many members working in the pro-life movement. I also had
the chance to observe a pro-life documentary in the making, watching the
attorneys I work with give interviews about the work they do!
I was able
to interact with state representatives who have been key in supporting pro-life
legislation. I was able to talk with directors and nurses from around the
nation who are doing what they can to save the unborn at these centers.
Back in
the office at Fredericksburg, I have started researching and editing legal tips
that are available for crisis pregnancy centers to access. In the office there
is a poster of the United States and it is filled with blue tacks. Each tack
represents a pregnancy center that NIFLA supports. It’s amazing to know the
work that I’m doing will be sent out to all of those blue dots. These tips will
help people better understand the law so they can continue the life-saving work
that they are doing. I look forward to what the rest of the internship
experience has to offer.
